The next Parent Workshop will be April 25, 2012. We will be addressing Fluency in Reading and preperation for Second Grade.Please allow your child ample time on :http://riverdeep.dadeschools.net (Login/Password is your child's computer #) Especially focus on reading tasks and 'Place Value' if your child has not completed it yet. The assigned programs are under the 'My Task' button at the top of the page Ticket to Read will no longer be available.

Educational Excellence School Advisory Council (EESAC) Meetings are every 2nd Wednesday of the month. This is a federally mandated committee to monitor the Morningside School Improvement Plan and develop the best learning environment at our school. Parent are essential to the committee! PLEASE try and attend the monthly EESAC meeting listed on the Morningside School Calendar. Ms. Kapcoe is chairwoman of the Committe, so please feel free to ask any questions you have.

Home Learning Weekly: Truck Day is this Thursday. Please make sure your child is here and on time so they can participate in this fun event! Spelling Contract - Spellling Notebook Due FRIDAY/Spelling Contract signed - For Language Arts Grade Reading Log - Back of Spelling Contract - Due FRIDAY for Reading Grade Math Home Learning Due Daily - Listed on Spelling Contract We have Mon/Wed/Fri Reading Comprehension Packets, as this is a major area of student learning need. Truck Day is May 3. Career Dayis May 10th. Please contact me if you know of, or would like to be, a speaker for Morningside Elementary's Career Day. News:Our next fieldtrip will be to the Miami Childrens Museum on June 1, 2012 Cost will be $10. Parent Volunteers Still Needed.
